RE-1 Valley School District Families: The RE-1 Valley School District Transportation Department is experiencing a severe bus driver shortage. Due to this shortage, the Padroni route for Sterling schools will run, but will be modified due to this shortage and information will be sent at the beginning of next week for this route. All other Sterling and Caliche rural bus routes are not affected and will run the same as in previous years. Unfortunately, the in-town bussing vendor, Overland Trail Bus Lines, will not be providing the intown bus transportation for the school district this year. If your child rode the in-town Overland Trails Bus last year, please be prepared to find an alternate form of transportation, as there will be no in-town bussing provided this year. The school district is actively trying to hire more bus drivers to help with this situation. We will keep you informed of any transportation updates as they become available. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Sincerely, Marty Foster Superintendent of Schools

Did you know today really isn't School Bus Driver Appreciation Day?!?!? However, we stumbled across a calendar that told us it was, so we celebrated our bus drivers anyways!! We sure love how they roll - and appreciate all they do to get our students to and from school safely!!!

We invite you to tune in at 8:00 am to WAMU Radio Station channel 88.5 as our very own Cindy Reyes dives deeper into this issue and explains how RE-1 Valley School District is supporting our homeless student population.
