8th Grade Yearbook Cover Contest!
Every 8th grade student has the opportunity to participate in the yearbook cover contest. If you currently have art, it is an assignment!
The yearbook committee has voted and would like your design to include a neon tiger or tiger cub.
The project can be constructed out of pencil, pen, colored pencils, markers but NO paint because we do not want the paper to warp.
Final design must have a vertical orientation and not a lot of white space. Use the entire paper, bigger is sometimes better. If you need a piece of drawing paper, please see Mrs. Knight.
You may get inspiration from the internet but do not trace due to copyrights. Art should always be your original creation.
If you incorporate words, please check for spelling errors.
All entries need to be submitted to Mrs. Knight by November 15 and will be judged by the Unified Arts Team.
The winner will receive a free yearbook, an art set and their artwork will be the cover of this year's yearbook!
Halloween is on Tuesday and we have some great fun happening, Sterling Middle!
There will be a costume contest (stay within the dress code!) in the following categories:
Funniest, Scariest, Most Creative, Best Duo & Best Group (more than two people!)
Your chance to win another great prize is with the coloring contest with original artwork from Mrs. Knight! See attached photo to print and make sure your name and grade level are on the back. DUE TUESDAY at 8am!

Are you interested in becoming part of the SMS Sports Family Booster Program? See Mr. Serrato to get your name into the sports programs that are distributed at each game!
The RE-1 Valley Schools have partnered together once again with the Food Bank of the Rockies to bring Totes of Hope. This program is to ensure that students have nutritious food available to them over the weekends.
Each week, your student will receive a food bag filled with 7-10 items and this will last through May!
